We have been here and teaching yoga since 2006 (Previously "Avirodha Studio"). We believe that yoga is not simply a form of exercise. We teach members to practice yoga with precision and in harmony with the nature of one’s body. Here, you can practice yoga without any stress or feelings of timidity because our reliable teachers never force our students to go beyond their limit.
In our centre, we don't put an emphasis on attaining advanced poses but to practice within your comfort levels. We teach yoga with the purpose to help members release stress, attain good health, and control certain chronic ailments especially spinal problems.
Our principle is, everyone can practice yoga. Even a very senior student can practice yoga in our centre. Our oldest student is over 70 years old.
Our teaching comprises three elements: asana, pranayama, and relaxation.
Asana, or yoga postures help to revitalize the body, spine, glands and internal organs. The postures which consists of gentle squeezing actions are performed for about (or more than) 30 seconds. The muscles and organs get stimulated thus the blood circulation is increased. The squeezing action produces the similar effect of massaging these organs or glands.
Pranayama are breathing techniques in yoga practice. These proper breathing methods help the lung to function at its maximum capacity. This will cause the body to feel more energetic. The elimination of toxins from body can be increased as well.
Relaxation is very important in today’s stressful life. Yoga practice provides a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. During the complete relaxation, one appears to be asleep, but the consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of awareness. It is a state between sleep and wakefulness.
